One brother dead, one injured in Michigan crash

A 21-year-old Michigan man lost his life and is twin brother was seriously injured in a Michigan car accident early last Friday. Two other individuals, a 42 year-old woman who was driving a minivan and a 53-year-old man driving a Ford pickup truck, were also injured in the crash.

According to local news reports the Ford pickup truck driven by the 53-year-old crossed the center line while driving on North Avenue in Mt. Clemens north of Detroit. After crossing the center line the truck collided with the minivan which was headed in the opposite direction.

After being struck by the Ford pickup, the minivan was hit from behind by a Chevrolet pickup truck. Those living near the site of the accident described a devastating scene after the crash. One neighbor described how the roof of one of the vehicles had landed in a neighbor's yard while the hood of the car had landed in his. The neighbor went on to say that the Ford pickup truck was completely torn apart in the crash.

The two 21-year-old twin brothers were passengers in the Ford Pickup truck. The two brothers were transported to Clemens Regional Medical Center, the medical staff was able to save the lives of one of the young men but the other was lost.

Law enforcement officials have indicated that alcohol did not appear to be a factor in this crash, though they are not yet clear about exactly what caused the fatal accident. While police continue to investigate, neighbors along this road say that they have seen other accidents on this stretch, and that it can be particularly dangerous at higher speeds.
