Fatal accident on way to Michigan wedding reception

The day of a wedding is designed to be one of the most joyful days in the lives of a young couple. Celebrating their love with friends and family, it is supposed to be the happiest of days spent in celebration. But a wedding celebration ended in tragedy this past weekend.

Two of the bride's sisters were involved in a car accident. One lost her life and the other was seriously injured and is last reported to be in critical condition. The accident occurred as they were on their way to the wedding reception.

The accident occurred at about six-thirty in the evening in Dearborn. According to witnesses and local news reports the two sisters were riding as passengers in the back of a jeep about 45 minutes before the reception was set to begin.

Another wedding guest, travelling in the same direction on the way to the reception was driving a Chevrolet sedan. The two vehicles collided, ejecting the two sisters from the rear of the jeep. Law enforcement officials are continuing to investigate the crash. They are specifically investigating the possibility that a third vehicle may have been involved in the fatal motor vehicle accident. It has not yet been reported if this third vehicle is thought to have caused the accident or played some other role, but assuming there was another vehicle the driver apparently did not remain at the scene of the crash.

There is never a good time to lose a loved one in a car accident. But it seems particularly traumatic to face the death of a family member on a Christmas night that is also the day of your wedding.
