Two drivers killed in a head-on collision

Lives can change in an instant. When a family loses a loved one in a fatal car accident their lives will never be the same. Unlike illness or old age, car accidents are sudden an unexpected. There is no period of preparation, no final chance to say your last good-byes. The families of the two men that were killed in a Michigan car accident this week, remind us all to cherish every day we have together.

The crash occurred in Sparta when the two cars collided head-on when one of the vehicles crossed the center line. On of the drivers was a 34 year old man from Sparta, the other was a 44-year-old man from Newaygo. The crash occurred on M13 at about 6:30 on Monday evening.

The two men were described as 'regular' and 'good' guys. Both men had children and we close their mothers. In a local news report on the crash, the mothers of the two men shared their tragic experience of learning about the death of their two sons. One of the mothers talked about how she had tried in vain to reach her son by phone on Monday night, and then heard a knock on the door from police.

Beyond the fact that one of the cars crossed the center line, police do not yet have much insight into exactly how the accident occurred. Initially, they were not even able to determine in which direction each car was heading prior to the collision. Police believe that there was one witness to the crash, another driver who had notified a local ambulance company about the accident. But they have not yet identified that witness.
