Drug use suspected in fatal car accident

A 30-year-old woman driving a Chevrolet Silverado ran into the back of a Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by a 31-year-old man, in early March. The impact of the crash pushed the Silverado into the back of a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country minivan that was waiting to make a left turn. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado died in the fatal accident. The woman who caused the crash and the man were transported to the hospital by helicopter. A passenger in the Chevrolet Tahoe was also taken to the hospital.

According to police, the woman in the Chevrolet Silverado was driving fast. The impact of her truck sent the Tahoe into the back of the minivan, then the woman's Silverado continued moving until it hit a tree. The sheriff's office said that after further investigation, it was found that the woman rear ended another vehicle just one and a half miles from the scene of the accident that finally stopped her. The sheriff deputies believe that the woman was using drugs, and that was a factor in the fatal accident, though the accident is still under investigation.

Police did not say whether the woman would face charges, criminal or otherwise, in the accident, but even if she does, those charges do not alleviate the deceased's family's losses. Not only did the family lose the nurturing the deceased person gave them, but they also lost income he brought into the family, which could put further stress on the family. The loss of their loved one, and the loved one's income, could considerably change the entire family's life.
