SUV crashes into Ypsilanti radio station

Many people in Ypsilanti and the surrounding areas have likely heard that last week an SUV crashed into the storefront of the AM 1700 radio station. It appears that no one was injured, according to early news reports.

The car accident reportedly involved two vehicles, both of which may have went through stop signs on Pearl and North Washington streets at around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. The two collided, and one vehicle pushed the other into the radio station's storefront.

The radio station reportedly sustained substantial damage though no exact estimate of the damage was immediately reported.

One of the two drivers was reportedly arrested for drunk driving at the scene.

Area residents may recall that in December a truck crashed into a restaurant's storefront on that very same block. That accident was somewhat similar in that two cars collided, with one pushing the other into the building. The driver of one of the vehicles fled the scene of the accident, but he was arrested soon after.

It is very fortunate that no one was seriously injured in either of these collisions. Often, when motor vehicles crash into businesses like these the results are tragic, as unsuspecting passersby, patrons and workers simply have no defense against such a sudden collision.

When people are injured in these types of accidents, or any type of accident, it can be very important to hold the negligent driver accountable with a personal injury lawsuit. Doing so is a way to obtain compensation for medical expenses, lost wages and other related costs.
