2 injured in car accident in Jackson, Michigan

Lately, we have frequently been mentioning on this Michigan Car Accident Blog that it is very important for drivers not only to follow traffic laws, but also to respond properly to winter road conditions. All too often, people abide by the posted speed limits when it is snowing, sleeting or when the roads are icy. When the driving conditions are poor, it is necessary to slow down. When drivers do drive too fast for the conditions, they may cause accidents and injuries, and they may be held accountable in criminal court and/or in civil court.

Earlier this week, a car accident took place in Jackson when a 25-year-old woman was reportedly driving too fast for the road conditions, according to the Michigan State Police. The conditions were reportedly very bad on Tuesday evening in Jackson as snow and ice made the roads slick.

According to police, the accident took place around 5 p.m. at Glasgow Road and Michigan Avenue. The 25-year-old was driving westbound when she lost control of her vehicle, and spun out until she broadsided a station wagon that was traveling east.

Both drivers were injured in the accident, but the extent of their injuries was not reported in the news.

The intersection was closed for some time after the accident as officials conducted an investigation and cleared the scene.

This was one of many accidents that occurred Tuesday evening in the area. When drivers cause accidents and injuries result, the victims may choose to pursue a civil action to obtain compensation for medical expenses, time spent away from work recovering and other damages.
