Limo driver flees after car accident in Jackson

Many commuters in Michigan trust others--bus drivers, cab drivers, limo drivers, etc.--with their lives on a daily basis. Professional drivers, as well as commercial transportation companies, have very important responsibilities, and if they shirk them the results can be very serious and even tragic.

This afternoon, a limo was involved in a four-vehicle crash in Jackson, Michigan, that left two people injured. The limo driver apparently fled from the scene of the accident before he could be interviewed by police.

MLive.com spoke to a witness at the scene of the crash, at Michigan Avenue in the area of Webster Street, who said that the limo rear-ended another vehicle before both turned onto Webster Street. The front vehicle then left the scene, and the limo driver jumped out of the limo and ran away.

Police have reported that two passengers in the limo have been taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Details about the involvement of the other two cars is unclear.

Jackson police are searching for the limo driver.

When people are injured in car accidents that involve commercial vehicles, they may be able to hold the driver or his or her employer accountable if their negligence led to the accident. In these cases, it is often possible to recover compensation for medical expenses, time spent away from work and the other costs associated with a car accident. It is often important that commercial car accidents are investigated early and thoroughly, as there is much to study in order to hold the driver and/or company responsible for their actions.
